A warm, community-oriented yakitori restaurant
"Tori-chan" is a beloved yakitori restaurant located within walking distance from Yasu Station. In a spacious restaurant atmosphere, you can enjoy a wide variety of yakitori and kushikatsu, with a diverse menu that showcases unique offerings. It's also a great spot for those who enjoy a good drink.
I was happy that I could easily find the place right from the station. The interior is long and deep, with both table and counter seating, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The signature dish, kushikatsu, has a very thin and crispy batter. You can choose from various options, not just sauce, but also Andes salt and yuzu salt, allowing you to enjoy different flavors. I was satisfied as I could really taste the flavors of the ingredients, such as large shrimp, tsukune, and lotus root. There is also a wide variety of sake and shochu, and I ended up drinking a lot along with the kushikatsu.

The assorted horse mackerel sashimi was tender and delicious. I also recommend the platter with seared pike conger and seared chicken grunt. The sea urchin tempura was so good that we were gawking at it in the fried food section. The fried shrimp and fried oyster set is just the right amount to fill you up. The dashimaki was very tasty with a resilient texture.

It is easy to walk to from the station, and the interior is clean and comfortable. The counter in the back is spacious, allowing for a relaxed experience even when alone. The appetizer platter has a variety of options, and the liver pâté was particularly rich and memorable. The pasta I chose had a pleasant garlic aroma, with thick noodles that had a nice chew, allowing me to fully enjoy the ingredients. Dipping the focaccia in the sauce really enhances the flavor. The dessert had a gentle homemade taste, and the coffee was fragrant, leaving me satisfied until the end.
