I recently visited the Nihonkai Sakana Machi, one of the largest seafood markets on the Sea of Japan side, with 70 stores 🐟.
Since I came all the way to the seafood market, I had to have a seafood bowl!
It would be a shame not to have it... I knew I would regret it, so I went to this restaurant!
This restaurant, directly managed by a fish shop, offers freshly caught seafood at a reasonable price.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of reasonably-priced seafood bowls for only 1,000 yen, including a winter-only crab dish directly from the market, which is the origin of the restaurant's name 😊.
There are many seafood bowl restaurants in Nihonkai Sakana Machi, but this one stood out from the rest.
The reason I decided to go here was because the waiter was so good at calling out to me. LOL!
He was so good at talking to us that we ended up going here even though we were planning to look for another restaurant 😂.
What I had this time was
The "Hiroshi donburi" (bowl of rice topped with a bowl of hiroshi rice) for ¥-1,800!
This is the most popular menu item at the restaurant, and if you are lost on the menu, you can't go wrong with this...
By the way, everything on the menu looks delicious, so it's really hard to decide. LOL!
Hiroshi-don is a luxurious dish with salmon, squid, geso, tuna, shrimp, negitoro, kanpachi, sea urchin, and salmon roe on top😊.
By the way, large serving is free and comes with miso soup👍.
All the seafood was fresh and very tasty, and even a normal serving of rice was quite filling. I personally thought the salmon was the best.
Seafood in the countryside is delicious 🤔.
I completely enjoyed the fish dishes. The turban shells, oysters, and of course, the sashimi platter with kochi and kingfish kimo were all too good to pass up. And since I had never had the experience of eating live abalone over my head, it was a great value for money.
