It feels nice to take off your shoes and step into the wooden interior, where the scent of hinoki (cypress) gently wafts through the air. The irori-style table and the firewood under the eaves create a pleasant atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy the essence of a mountain soba shop. You can choose between round buckwheat or whole buckwheat, and you can really appreciate the aroma and texture. When you order the zaru soba, you are pleasantly surprised to find simple condiments, along with soba crackers and soba tofu. The dipping sauce is fragrant and pairs well with the soba, and finishing off with the rich soba broth is truly exceptional. It’s popular and there are always customers, so I’m satisfied to enjoy it before it sells out.
