I made a reservation for lunch on the day of my solo trip home. As the reviews suggested, it is a popular restaurant in Yugawara, and I was glad to have made a reservation as customers kept coming in from the opening on a weekday. The staff who assisted me were very kind. I waited leisurely while watching the cooking being done in the open kitchen. Each dish was carefully prepared, and although there was a wait, it was delicious enough to be very satisfying. Since I was there, I decided to have the steak lunch, which I always feel is on the lunch menu, but it seemed that the fish dishes were popular among other customers. Those also looked very delicious. The steak lunch had a rich flavor with the sauce and grilled vegetables, which were very satisfying. The sauces included steak sauce, and possibly basil, horseradish, and parsley butter? Several types of sauces were beautifully arranged on the plate without mixing, offering various flavors. (I apologize if the sauces were completely different.) The meat was cooked perfectly, with a good chew and was truly delicious. The miso soup had a piece of fried tofu and a slightly larger piece of tofu, which I thought might be sourced from a specialty shop, and the rich flavor of the beans had a wonderful aroma. The rice and the small bowl of pickled rice bran were also impressive. I wondered why each of these paired so well with the steak and was so delicious. The dishes, plates, and bowls were all very refined, and they were presented beautifully like a complete meal. I have gained more excitement for my next trip to Yugawara. The timing of the serving of the dishes, rice, miso soup, and even the tea served later was excellent, which explains why it is a popular restaurant. Yugawara has many delicious places, and there are quite a few where you have to wait outside, which is part of the charm of traveling, but I was very grateful to be able to make an online reservation for my solo trip. I will definitely visit again.
