Lunch was only one choice, a sort of sushi kaiseki for 2,000 yen. The menu included a variety of colorful appetizers such as kumquat, sweet potato, firefly squid, etc., grilled sesame tofu, sushi with soy sauce, sushi with salt on the ingredients, and seared sushi, which was unusually well prepared. The restaurant, which is decorated in the style of an old private home, has both sunken kotatsu and table seating, and is filled with three or four groups of customers. The table seating was on the veranda, and I was able to spend a relaxing time drinking coffee (or ume kombucha) after my meal and looking at the beautiful garden on the warm veranda. The owner also seemed very personable and we had a soothing meal.
